Grand Theft Auto (GTA), fans have been eagerly awaiting the next chapter for more than seven years. However, Rockstar Games, the developers of the game, hasn’t made any official statements about its development. The GTA 6 is still a part the rumours, and this latest tip just fuels an old theory about the action-adventure game. According to GTA 6 News (via Inverse), one fan noticed a new website called ‘rockstarcartel.com’ from Rockstar’s parent company Take-Two Interactive. This suggests that the game could return to Vice City. The site is named after Miami, which was once the drug capital of world because of the cartel wars. Vice City was also home to the first GTA. The website was first registered in 2002, but it received an update last Monday, April 12.
For years, rumors have been swirling about the return of GTA in Vice City. It was reported that Project Americas would be the name of the new project. All this may seem a little too far, as domains are bought up by companies all the time. They sit on them for years to ensure that no fan-sites or fake sites ever pop up. The world “cartels” even point to other cities that the next game could be set up, and not just Miami (or Vice City in this instance). You could also be implying that Take-Two was updating its domains routinely and making a quick update on the page.
Inverse points out that Nintendo fans found the domain “waluigi.com” in February, just before the launch of Super Smash Bros. This development led to a seemingly unbreakable theory that Waluigi would become the next fighting character. However, it didn’t end up being true.
